Gas fees

Pay gas fees in USDT, no ETH required

The most common reason a transfer fails is not a lack of money. It is a lack of the right money. You hold USDT, the network wants ETH, and the transaction sits there. ZenWallet lets you pay network fees in USDT on Ethereum, Polygon and BNB Chain, so a stablecoin balance is enough to move.

Stablecoin-only balances work

Fund a wallet with USDT alone and still send, swap and interact with contracts on supported EVM chains.

No native-token top-ups

Stop buying $8 of ETH from an exchange every time a transaction is blocked, and stop paying a spread to do it.

One less reason to leave

Most gas failures push people back to a custodial exchange. This removes the trigger.

Why a USDT balance normally cannot pay for anything

Every EVM chain charges fees in its own native token. Ethereum wants ETH, Polygon wants POL, BNB Chain wants BNB. A wallet holding nothing but stablecoins is technically solvent and functionally frozen.

The usual fix is a chore: open an exchange, buy a small amount of the native token, withdraw it, wait for confirmation, then finally make the transaction you wanted twenty minutes ago. The withdrawal itself often costs more than the gas it is meant to cover.

How ZenWallet settles gas in USDT

When you submit a transaction from a supported EVM chain, ZenWallet quotes the network fee, deducts the equivalent in USDT from your balance, and settles the native-token cost on your behalf. You approve one transaction, not three.

The quote is shown before you sign, so the fee is a number you agree to rather than a surprise deducted afterwards.

  • Supported for gas payment today: Ethereum, Polygon and BNB Chain
  • Fees are quoted in USDT before signing, not estimated afterwards
  • Sending, receiving and swapping carry no ZenWallet fee; you pay the network cost only
  • Non-EVM chains (Bitcoin, Solana, TRON, TON) still settle fees in their own native asset

Who this actually solves a problem for

Anyone paid in stablecoins. Freelancers, contractors and remote teams receive USDT and hold USDT. Under a normal wallet, the first thing they have to do with a payment is convert part of it into a token they did not want, purely to be allowed to spend the rest.

It also matters for merchants and treasuries, where holding a float of four different native tokens across four chains is an accounting problem nobody asked for.

Common questions

Can I pay Ethereum gas fees with USDT?

Yes. On Ethereum, Polygon and BNB Chain, ZenWallet quotes the network fee in USDT and deducts it from your stablecoin balance, so you do not need to hold ETH, POL or BNB to transact.

Do I still need ETH in the wallet at all?

Not for gas on the supported EVM chains. You only need ETH if you specifically want to hold or send ETH itself.

Does this work on Bitcoin, Solana, TRON or TON?

No. Those networks settle fees in their own native asset and ZenWallet does not change that. Gas payment in USDT applies to Ethereum, Polygon and BNB Chain.

Is there a markup on the gas price?

The USDT amount is quoted before you sign, so whatever the cost is, you see it and approve it before the transaction goes out.
