A Safe alternative for finance teams, not just engineers

Safe is the standard for on-chain multisig and it earned that position. It is also built around deploying and administering smart contracts, which is fine when a protocol engineer owns the treasury and awkward when a controller does. ZenWallet Vault mode targets the second case.

Configured, not deployed

Multisig approval is a setting rather than a contract you deploy and maintain per chain.

Fiat on both ends

Fund by card or transfer, settle sales to a company bank account, without leaving the treasury tool.

Non-EVM coverage

Bitcoin, Solana, TRON and TON alongside the EVM chains, in the same account.

What Safe does better

Safe's contract-based model is transparent, auditable and battle-tested, with an enormous ecosystem of modules, integrations and tooling around it. For a protocol treasury, a DAO, or any organisation with engineers on staff, that is the right answer and this page is not trying to talk you out of it.

It is also fully on-chain, which means the approval logic is verifiable by anyone rather than trusted to a provider. That is a meaningful property and ZenWallet does not replicate it.

Where Vault mode fits instead

Vault mode is aimed at a company that holds crypto but does not staff a crypto engineer: an agency paid in stablecoins, a merchant with an on-chain float, a startup holding reserves. The requirement is dual approval, clean recovery and a settlement path to fiat, not a modular on-chain governance stack.

How to choose

If your treasury needs to be publicly verifiable, governed by token holders, or extended with custom modules, use a contract multisig. If it needs two people to approve a supplier payment on a Tuesday and the money to reach a bank account by Friday, Vault mode is less machinery for the same control.

Common questions

Is ZenWallet Vault mode the same as an on-chain multisig contract?

No. Vault mode enforces multisig approval as a wallet policy rather than a deployed smart contract. It is simpler to run and does not give you on-chain verifiability of the approval logic.

Do we need engineering support to run it?

No. Vault mode is configured in the app, which is the main reason finance teams choose it over contract-based tooling.

Does it cover Bitcoin and Solana?

Yes. ZenWallet covers Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, Polygon, TRON, BNB Chain and TON in one account.

Can we settle treasury balances to a company bank account?

Yes, through the integrated fiat rails, subject to jurisdiction and business verification.
